A Walking Boot is commonly used for stable ankle fractures, post surgery of the foot or ankle, and severe ankle or foot sprains / strains. The Walking Boot comes in a variety of styles such as the Air Walking Boot
which has an inflatable air bladder that inflates around the ankle
area to reduce swelling and pain and provide more immobilization at the
same time.
The AirCast Walking Boot is a cam walker walking boot that gives the user a more cast-like feel in addition to having the air bladder. The Air Cast Shell Walking Boot has an additional plastic shell that covers the top part of the foot, ankle, and lower leg area that distributes the pressure from the Velcro harnesses for a more comfortable fit.
